Regular medical screenings can also catch it in its early stages, allowing early treatment and lifestyle changes to help prevent further complications.

Those with diabetes should be aware of the signs and symptoms. Common signs and symptoms include frequent urination, excessive thirst, fatigue, cuts or sores that are slow to heal, and blurry vision. If any of these signs and symptoms are present, it is important to visit a doctor right away and get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Diabetes can be a difficult condition to manage, but with proper treatments and education it does not have to take over a person's life.
