Check out the exciting new 2020 lineup of Volkswagen of wagons, sedans and SUVs! Most notably, the Passat, Atlas, Arteon, Tiguan, Jetta and Golf now all come with advanced tech and safety features, along with larger wheels (on most models) and enhanced drivability. Wi-Fi ability, phone connectivity and updated charging also now come standard across the board. But what does it cost to get behind the wheel of a new 2020 Volkswagen? Prices vary greatly by model, but the good news is that the Volkswagen brand is maintaining another feature that has earned it popularity over the years: great value.
One of the best examples of this is the newly refreshed 2020 Volkswagen Passat. With a starting MSRP between $22,995 and $31,095, this vehicle is comparable in price to other midsize sedans on the market today, but it has a variety of modern features coming standard that others only offer as add-ons. For example the new Passat comes with an updated interior and new luxury features like a six-speaker sound system, two USB ports, satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It also has a 6.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Special deals on the new Passat include a lease of just $309 per month for 39 months on the base model at certain dealerships. Deals vary by location, but most Volkswagen dealerships are expected to start offering more significant savings heading into fall.
Another great value Volkswagen is the Golf. Available in a limited amount of trims and ranging from a starting price of $23,195 to $23,995, this zippy little compact car is the brand's most recognizable modern hatchback. Its design allows it to have more cargo space than most other compacts though, and Volkswagen has also gifted it with a whole slew of modern features. From its heated front seats and user-friendly infotainment system to its agile handling out on the road, the Golf remains a hot competitor (its above-average 36 mpg on the highway doesn't hurt either). Just like the Passat, deals for the 2020 Golf vary greatly between dealerships and are dependent on availability. Leases are available for a reasonable $329 per month for 39 months. That said, many dealerships are offering a $1,000 incentive for customers who purchase a Gold without any kind of promotional financing or lease deal.Â
The 2020 Atlas is another Volkswagen worth looking into this year. A refresh of the 2018 version, this midsize SUV is designed for families and adventure-minded individuals, and it comes with a variety of fun features like a spacious three-rows of seating, Volkswagen's Car-Net communications system, turbocharged engine options, and a stunning seven trim levels to choose from. The vehicle starts at $33,000 and goes up to $49,195 for the top trim, though customers can save between of $2,000 and upwards of $3,000 at a lot of dealerships right now (which are already starting to make room for the anticipated 2021 redesign, and these discounts are unadvertised). Financing is currently offered at around $432 a month for 39 months, while a lease is still kept relatively low at $370 a month.Â
Generally speaking, Volkswagen's financing incentives are set at rates between 2 percent and 2.9 percent interest rates for terms up to five years. Currently, however, the best financing interest rates are on the 2020 Atlas, 2020 Golf and 2020 Golf GTI, which are all offered for 1.9 percent. Even so, the 2020 Passat, 2020 Tiguan and 2020 Jetta are meanwhile all offered at 2.9 percent. While their interest rates may seem high at a glance, they are actually pretty great deals considering the national average interest rates in the U.S. range between 4.46 percent and 4.61 percent. It's also worth noting that Volkswagen of America offers certain deals for members of the military (all five branches) and first responders (police, firefighters, ambulence drivers and paramedics, etc.), as well as recent college graduates. Customers eligible for these deals may receive up to $500 towards a new vehicle. It's also worth noting that many of the models in the 2020 lineup are now available in hybrid versions, which may be eligible for tax breaks in many states.Â
