The Great Barrier Reef is a wonderland for divers and snorkelers. Even if you can barely swim, you can explore with a snorkel set. Cruises go out of Cairn for the most part, and there is about 1400 miles of this reef that was made from tiny creature over thousands of years. Spend your days underwater exploring the many colors of the reef, as well as the wildlife. You can swim with dolphins and turtles, or relax and enjoy the beach. There are semi submersible boats, as well as glass bottom boats that will allow you too see the underwater world without getting wet. There are also some underwater observatories for that purpose as well. The great thing here is the outdoors. Hotels range from very small and plain to five star luxur.
