I live in New York and while I don't work in finance, I am familiar with how much of a powerhouse Goldman Sachs is. I was surprised that their savings accounts do not require a minimum balance and do not charge any transaction fees. They pay 1.3% APY on all deposits. One drawback is the lack of an ATM card which can be a hassle, but it also helps me to better save my money! If I were to have a financial emergency I could access my funds via wire transfer or electronic transfer. Overall, I am okay with the no debit card especially with a rate that pays above most banks.
