LoanDepot gave me a home equity loan when others refused me. Not only was I approved for a huge amount but the interest rates are on fixed terms so I don't have to worry about them going up. The monthly payments are affordable and they'll work with you to find a good repayment plan that will work for you. I was approved quickly, just a matter of days rather than weeks. Also, I have 15 years to repay, so I'm good.

Chase said there would be no application fees or closing fees, but they didn't tell me there would be a origination fee or annual fee, but whatever. I like that the home equity loan is established as a line of credit, because I wasn't sure how much I actually needed.  They are giving me 20 years to repay the loan and you have a choice between a fixed rate and variable. I went with fixed. By opening a checking account with them I got a discounted rate, giving me a pretty good deal on my loan despite the fees.

The Bank of America is the best way to get a home equity loan. They give you a line of credit, so you only  pay interest for what you actually use. Personally my experience with Discover's home equity loan services left much to be desired. While I was enticed by the no upfront fees for getting a loan, my experience in getting my home equity loan was a nightmare. They wanted all sorts of documentation and getting in touch with them was a nightmare, but I won't get into that. Now that it is over and I have paid off my loan, I am over it, but I should note that the closing fees were way too high. I must say I was glad they accepted my application when others ...

I got my home equity loan from US Bank. I got a great rate that was fixed so I didn't have to worry about the rate changing in a few years. I was able to set-up autopay so that I never missed a loan payment. In 10 years I paid off my loan and in all that time I never had any problems with the bank. There were no crazy fees or upfront costs and nobody tried to screw me over. I( could not have asked for a better lender.
